HT9032 Caller ID
December 10, 1998
The recent proliferation of Caller ID devices on the market is of course
welcome news for all companies involved in the telecommunication semiconductor device
manufacturing business area. Caller ID devices permit the receiver of a call to first
identify the incoming caller by providing information such as the caller's telephone
number or name, enabling screening of the call to be carried out before deciding whether
to answer or not. Presently available related commercial products include Adjunction
boxes, Caller ID feature phones, FAX machines and Answering Machines.
Holtek's response
to this expanding market area is demonstrated from its recent release of it's latest
HT9032 device. Primarily aimed at Type 1 or on-hook caller
ID applications this device is able to accommodate both the Bellcore (Type I) and ITU-T
V.23 standards. The device integrates an FSK demodulator and other necessary circuitry on a single chip. The device offers both
pin and functional compatibility with the Motorola MC145447 and EMC EM92547A devices.
This new device offers distinct advantages over predecessors in term of power
consumption and overall cost effectiveness. An 8 pin and 16 pin
packages are available.
Those interested in obtaining further information on this device should first contact the
nearest Holtek representative who will provide the information needed.
