8-bit remote control microcontroller HT48CA3
December 27, 2001
The
HT48CA3 is one of Holtek's new generation remote control series 8-bit
microcontrollers. Full programming flexibility is offered with the
device's 24K X 16 of internal memory available for both program and data. In its capacity as a specialized remote control device, one distinctive internal feature is its ability to generate a carrier frequency via an internal programmable frequency divider (PFD) output. As the carrier frequency is under software control, the device has the flexibility to suit a wide range of
universal remote control (URC) applications. Regarding other features, the device possesses one 8-bit and one 16-bit internal timer/event counter, one external interrupt and an 8-level stack, 224 X 8 of internal RAM memory and 23 I/O pins. Program Memory is subdivided into three areas, each of which has a capacity of 8K X 16. With an operating voltage range of between 2.2 and 3.6V the processor is suitable for all 2-cell battery applications. Operating frequency ranges from 400kHz to 4MHz. The internal power down function ensures a supply current of less than 1mA when the device is in the low power mode.
The device has full pin and functional compatibility with its sister OTP device, the
HT48RA3. The HT48RA3
OTP device, is available to give designers the necessary programming flexibility during the product development and market evaluation stages to reduce the risks involved before moving into high volume mask device production. The device is available in both 28SKDIP and 28SOP packages.
