New Product Release – 8-bit A/D with LCD MCU --- HT46R652

With the already released HT46R62, HT46R63, HT46R64, HT46R65 and HT46RU66 devices in its A/D with LCD range of MCUs, Holtek has now added a new addition to the range with the release of the HT46R652. In expanding the number and completeness of the range of A/D with LCD devices, the user is provided with even wider application possibilities and flexibility. Comparisons with the present HT46R65 device, reveal the same Program Memory OTP capacity of 8K and Data Memory capacity of 384 bytes. Regarding I/O pins, 8 wake-up pins are provided on Port A as well as the provision of two external interrupt pins. Included are also a Real Time Clock function, dual 16-bit timers, a Programmable Frequency Divider/Buzzer function output, which can be used to generate accurate frequencies or directly drive audio sounders. Protection against erroneous operation in the event of noise or low power supply voltages, a Watchdog Timer function and LVD/LVR - Low Voltage Detect/Low Voltage Reset - circuits are provided. The device also includes an internal LCD driver, which can drive LCD panels of up to 160 pixel capacity. Differing from the HT46R65 device, the HT46R652 has several enhanced features such as the provision of 32 I/O lines, and an 8-channel 12-bit ADC. In order to allow more rapid operation, the system clock has been raised to a maximum of 12MHz. One of the main special characteristics of the HT46R652 is its internal 16-channel 8-bit PWM function, which with its source or sink output current capability of 40mA, makes it suitable for the direct driving of small scale stepper motors, without the need for external driver circuit components. As would be expected, the HT46R652 meets with full industry specifications and presently is supplied in a 100-pin QFP package type. The device will have specific application relevance in areas such as wide ranging household appliances, fitness activity equipment, industrial controllers/industrial metering products etc. One especially suitable application area for this device is that of automotive and motorcycle dashboard applications, where the need for both LCD control and small stepper motor driving is a requirement for the display of vehicle information.
