New 8-bit MCU Product Release - HT46R46/HT46R46E/HT46R47E

December 15, 2004

With their integrated 8~9 bit internal analog to digital converter, the new HT46R46, HT46R46E and HT46R47E 8-bit MCU devices provide three new MCU device solutions in the Cost Effective A/D series range. By providing users with a superior range of features, the devices are extremely suited for use in a range of household appliance, automotive peripheral and other intelligent controller product applications.

The HT46R46 uses a Holtek 8-bit microcontroller core, and has a maximum operating frequency of 8MHz and a 1K Word Program Memory. Its integrated peripheral functions include a 4-channel 8-bit A/D converter which can process external environmental signals such as those of temperature, humidity etc. Other integrated functions include a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) output, which has applications in motor control, and 13 available I/O pins which can be used for standard I/O control functions. The addition of a Programmable Frequency Divider (PFD), which can provide a range of audio frequencies, in addition to other integrated functions, provides product designers with an extremely flexible and highly functional device with which to implement a wide range of applications.

The HT46R46E and the HT46R47E use the latest packaging techniques to incorporate two integrated circuits, an 8-bit MCU device and a 1K bit Data EERPOM, into a single device package. The HT46R46E and the HT46R47E devices, although incorporating an EEPROM, in other aspects are functionally similar to their sister devices, the HT46R46 and the HT46R47. This latter device was previously released and is already at the high volume production stage. These HT46R46E and the HT46R47E, in addition to reducing the cost of an additional EEPROM, also offer the advantages of smaller circuit board areas for applications where space is at a premium.

The HT46R46, HT46R46E and HT46R47E devices are all available in 18-pin SOP/SKDIP package types.
