Holtek HT7A4016 New AC-DC/DC-DC Converter Power Management DeviceFollowing the successful release of Holtek’s AC-DC power management devices, Holtek is now delighted to announce the release of a new AC-DC converter power management device, the HT7A4016.

The HT7A4016 can be applied not only in isolated AC-DC circuits such as Flyback and Forward circuits, but also in non-isolated DC-DC circuits including Buck and Boost circuits. In Flyback application circuits, a Primary-Side feedback function is provided to reduce the external component count and to simplify the application circuit. A Secondary-Side Feedback function is provided to improve voltage and current stability. The inclusion of fully integrated slope compensation and leading edge blanking functions within the device also allow for large reductions in the number of external components.

Additionally, the HT7A4016 also offers advantages in the non-isolated DC-DC circuit application area. Because general DC-DC Buck ICs all have fixed current capacities, the implementation of higher current or higher power applications will result in higher costs. However, in using the HT7A4016 together with an external Power MOSFET, the device is not current limited and consequently offers lower cost solutions for higher current and higher power output applications. These features combined with an input voltage range of up to 30V enable the device to offer a wider operating range when compared to general Buck ICs.

To assist with rapid product development, reference circuits and an evaluation board are also available for the HT7A4016 device.
