New 2-wire Serial Interface EEPROM --
HT2201 November 15, 2004
Holtek
is delighted to announce the formal release of its new 2-wire
serial interface EEPROM, the HT2201.
By providing designers with a new high-performance, and low cost
EEPROM solution, and being especially suited to work with MCU
applications, the device will find its home among an extensive
range of products. Having a capacity of 1Kb, the applications
for this device is specifically directed at those products with
lower non-volatile memory capacity requirements, reducing the
costs of the traditional EEPROM solution.
The HT2201
is compatible with the I2C interface, requiring only
2 lines for its signal interface. Device specifications include
a maximum clock frequency of 400kHz, a 5ms write cycle time, a
5mA write current, an operating voltage ranging from 2.2V to
5.5V and a temperature range of -40℃to 85℃. An
integrated timer is provided for write operations. The device
will also automatically execute an erase operation before a
write cycle is implemented. The HT2201
has a write capacity of 1 million cycles, and a data retention
time of 40 years.
As the device comes in both 4-pin SIP and
SOT-25 extra-small package types, it is especially suitable to
meet the demands of those products where space is at a premium.
Holtek is happy to provide samples of this new device in
addition to being able to provide the device in production
volumes.
