New Product Release I/O type MCU -- HT48R502 November
8, 2006 With its 4Kx15 of OTP Program Memory, 224x8 Data Memory, 56 I/O pins, two 16-bit timers and a 16-level stack, the new
HT48R502 forms a new addition to Holtek's range of 8-bit I/O MCU devices. The device is supplied in both 48-pin SSOP and 64-pin QFP package types.
Three oscillator circuits are provided with the
HT48R502 for system clock generation, a low power 32768Hz RTC oscillator, an external RC oscillator and an external crystal oscillator, the choice of which is selectable via configuration options. If the low power 32768Hz RTC oscillator is selected, then should the device enter the power-down mode, the oscillator will continue running to maintain the internal timer functions. If the configuration options select either the external RC or external crystal oscillator to meet the requirements for higher program execution speeds, then a clock frequency of range between 400kHz and 8MHz can be obtained by choosing suitable external components. Overall, the
HT48R502, in addition to taking into considering simplification for existing customer design change requirements, in the area of function and performance, also allows the customer to maintain familiarity during new product design, thus meeting the requirements of practical applications. The
HT48R502 device is functionally pin compatible with the presently available
HT48R70A-1 device in areas such as pull-high resistor options, low voltage reset, Buzzer/PFD output, multi-functional pins, high noise immunity capabilities, etc. As for packaging the device is identical to that of the
HT48R70A-1. For its full range of MCU devices, Holtek naturally supplies a full suite of hardware and software development tools in the form of its HT-IDE3000 development system. With a host of functions such as real time emulation, memory/register save and read functions, hardware breakpoints with logical setups, trace function analysis etc, users have a full set of functionally rich tools at their disposal to ensure that their application programs and product designs are developed quickly and efficiently.
