New C/R-F MCU Product Release ---- HT45R36
October 30, 2006
In order to expand its range of sensor type MCU applications, Holtek has now released a new multi-channel C/R-F MCU, the
HT45R36. The internal C/R-F function within the MCU device uses an internal oscillator and timer circuits for its implementation. When the oscillator's external effective resistor or capacitor changes value, the oscillator frequency will correspondingly change and change the timer value. When accompanied with its internal channel decoder to scan the different channels, the
HT45R36 can recognise which channel's external condition has changed.
The HT45R36 contains an internal 2Kx14 capacity Program Memory, and a 120 byte capacity Data Memory as well as 9 I/O lines. The device can provide up to 16 C/R-F function channels and has 2 external interrupt pins and two 8-bit ports with high current drive pins. These high current drive pins can source up to 40mA at 5V and can source -20mA at 5V.
This product has applications in the safety and protection product area, for example door and window protection, intruder detection etc. The device also has applications for products which require keypad inputs, for example household appliances such as blenders, air extractors, etc. as well as other similar products. For products that need to drive high current loads, such as LEDs, LED matrixes or 7-segment displays etc, the internal high current drivers can be utilised, making the addition of external drive transistor circuitry unnecessary, in the process reducing the PCB size and simplifying the circuit.
The device includes an internal, high noise immunity Holtek 8-bit MCU, and with its internal watchdog timer and LVR functions, strive to eliminate erroneous operation due to programming malfunctions or low power supply voltages. The
HT45R36 is supplied in both 44-pin and 52-pin QFP package types, the functional difference between the two package types being in the difference of 2 extra I/O pins and extra 6 C/R-F channels.
