New Music MCU Product Release --- HT36B4

Holtek is pleased to announce the release of a new addition to its Music MCU range, with the new HT36B4. In addition to being fully functionally compatible with the HT36A0 device, it offers the advantages of a wider operating voltage of 2.4V~5.0V and improved RC oscillator characteristics.

The HT36XX series of devices, by combining the programming flexibility and features of a high performance 8-bit microcontroller, which when combined with wave table sampling techniques, Holtek has ensured the devices achieve high standards of CD quality sound. Internally, a high quality stereo 16-bit DAC and an abundant supply of I/O pins creates devices with multi functions that are sure to meet the demands of a huge range of music products and applications.

Differing from the usual methods of music simulation, these devices in the Music MCU range all use wave table sampling techniques, which together with enhanced circuit techniques allows user to choose from lower cost 4 channel devices to full function 16 channel devices. These channels can be output simultaneously while still maintaining the original sound quality of each channel. These features combined with the excellent inherent sound quality makes the device an excellent choice for applications such as electronic keyboards, high sound quality music players, electronic music boxes etc.
