New Holtek Product Release - HT1647A 1000-Pixel LCD Driver

The new HT1647A is an LCD panel controller device that supports Holtek I/O type MCUs. Internally it contains display RAM for 1024 pixel displays. The device is fully compatible with the HT1647 device in terms of function, characteristics, interface and packaging, however the HT1647A only supports black and white displays. The device is supplied in both chip type and in 100-pin QFP package forms.

The HT1647A has an operating voltage range of 2.7V～5.2V and a resolution of 64 x 16. It includes 1024 bits of display RAM, supplying an adjustable LCD supply VLCD voltage and either 1/5 or 1/4 Bias Voltage. The device is suitable for use in TN and STN type LCD panels. By using PWM techniques, the illumination has 24-level selections. The user can use 5-bits of data for device setup 4 levels of illumination, two bits of RAM data for (D3, D2) or (D1, D0) to define the black/white two type illumination level. The coding technique of the HT1647A is compatible with that of the HT1647.

The HT1647A retains the adjustable illumination features of the HT1647 device and is also fully compatible with this device. Original black and white display users do not need to change their programs and can directly use this device as a replacement, providing users with a further choice for their applications.
