HT82A822R USB Speaker MCU September 1, 2006 The
HT82A822R USB Speaker OTP MCU is a new microcontroller device just released by Holtek Semiconductor. The device includes a fully integrated USB 1.1 Serial Interface Engine, and internal digital to analog converter, as well as a high power amplifier, which when added to its already full range of functions give designers a new platform for an even more expedient means of design and manufacturing. One important feature of the devices is the use of a frequency spectrum converter to display the spectrum magnitude of the music being played onto an LCD display, while at the same time varying the background color, providing the listener with the added attraction and enjoyment of visual stimulus.
For the designer, not only is the potential now available to use an LCM in their product design to highlight the characteristics of their latest products, but also as the MCU is supplied as a One Time Programmable device, the possibilities exist for easy extension of existing applications for increased product diversity. The
HT82A822R has, at its core, a Holtek 8-bit microcontroller, which includes 4Kx15 of Program Memory as well as 192x8 bytes of Data Memory, in addition to 512x8 bytes of read only Data Memory. The usual range of comprehensive features that are integrated into Holtek microcontrollers are naturally included, of which are included power-down and wake-up features. The
HT82A822R device has a working voltage of 4.2V~5.5V and can operate at a maximum frequency of 12MHz. The device provides 8 I/O lines, and was specifically designed for the USB Speaker series of MCU devices. The extensive integrated functions within the
HT82A822R device, together with Holtek's suite of integrated development tools and OTP writers, give designers the means to quickly design and create a large range of custom devices which in turn will supply customers with an even greater choice of diverse products and business opportunities.
