8-bit A/D Full Speed USB MCU - HT46RB50 August
18, 2006 The newly released
HT46RB50 is one of Holtek's new generation 8-bit A/D type Full Speed USB microcontrollers which has presently met with full approval from the USB-IF Compliance Test - USB2.0 Report for Full Speed Device. With its 4K of OTP Program Memory and 192 bytes of Data Memory, the
HT46RB50 device contains a host of internal features such as a 16-bit timer, an 8-bit timer, up to 38 I/O pins, an external interrupt, and I/O pin wake up function etc. The fully integrated A/D converter contains 8-channels and has a 10-bit resolution. Also incorporated are two internal 8-bit PWM functions, allowing applications such as easy speed control of products that contain electric motors. The HT46RB50 also contains an SIO serial interface giving the user an easy and convenient means of on-board communication.
As an A/D type Full Speed USB microcontroller, the
HT46RB50 can transfer data at a 12Mbit/Sec rate. The user can select either a 12MHz or 6MHz crystal as the system oscillator and with accompanying proper software setup and the integrated PLL circuit, will provide the USB IP with its required 48MHz oscillation frequency. The HT46RB50 also generates its own 3.3V stable voltage output source for the D+ pin pull high resistor. Regarding the important area of USB resources, the
HT46RB50 provides 4 Endpoints and can support three types of transfer modes, namely control transfer, interrupt transfer and bulk transfer. The
HT46RB50 can be used in a range of products with USB interfaces, such as PC peripheral products like joysticks, keyboards, writing panels, touch panels, consumer product type USB interface battery chargers, electronic scales, blood pressure measurement devices as well as applications in the automatic control area, all of which can have data acquisition functions with PC communication ability. As is the case with all of Holtek's MCU devices, the device is fully supported by the usual fully functional and comprehensive software and hardware development tools. Incorporating real time emulation, data memory/register read and write functions, hardware breakpoints with logical setup, full trace function analysis etc, combine to provide today's designer with a suite of tools to get their designs developed and debugged effectively and in as short a time as possible. The device comes supplied in a 28-pin SKDIP/SOP and 48-pin SSOP package types. Customer samples are available and volume orders can be accepted.
