Holtek Releases New HT46R321 A/D with OPA Type MCU
08/06/2007
Holtek Semiconductor takes pleasure in the announcement of its new HT46R321 A/D type 8-bit microcontroller. Special features included within the device is the integration of an operational amplifier and a 12-bit A/D converter as well as 2K x 14 of Program Memory, 88 bytes of Data Memory and up to 9 I/O pins. By using software the internal operational amplifier can have its offset voltage adjusted down to within ±2mV, a close to ideal value which opens up new application possibilities for this device.
The HT46R321 contains an 8*4 matrix of high current drive outputs. Each of these outputs can sink up to 40mA and source up to 20ma at 5V. This capability allows certain high current external devices such as LEDs, LED panels, 7-segment LEDs etc. to be directly connected to these output pins, without resorting to the usual need for external buffering components such as transistors. The HT46R321 can be applied for use in small household appliances and small system controllers such as switching power supplies, induction cookers, electric blankets, electric hobs, washing machines, dish dryers, and multi-function battery chargers etc.
This new device has the usual Holtek MCU features of high noise immunity and excellent ESD protection, which when combined with its internal Watchdog timer and Low Voltage Reset functions, reduce substantially the possibility of system malfunctioning due to external influences. Regarding packaging the device is available in three package types, namely 28-pin SKDIP, SOP and SSOP.
