8-bit Remote Control OTP Microcontroller HT48RA3
July 26, 2001
The
HT48RA3 is a newly released Universal Remote Controller
(URC) designed specifically for remote control applications. The
HT48RA3 has a 24K x 16 memory capacity, commonly used by both program and data, providing the user with expanded flexibility. In the area of look-up table functions, this increased ram capacity coupled with its increased look up table functionality, provides designers of remote control devices with a more simplified process for program development. For remote control carrier frequency generation the
HT48RA3 has an internal programmable frequency divider or PFD output, the output frequency of which can be defined under software control, giving the device the flexibility to suit a large range of remote control protocols.
Regarding the device's other functions, the
HT48RA3 contains both an internal 8-bit and 16-bit counter, an external interrupt, 8-level stack, 224 bytes of RAM memory and 23 I/O pins. The program memory is sub-divided into 3 sections, each section having a capacity of 8K x 16. The device has a clock frequency range from 400kHz to 4MHz and an operating voltage range of 2.2~3.6V making it suitable for two cell battery operation. The internal power down mode consumes less than 1mA when in this mode. The device is supplied in both 28-pin DIP and 28-pin SOP package forms.
A mask version of the device, the HT48CA3
is also provided, which when used together with the OTP device provides for easier product development and lower overall product costs.
