New 8-bit Dual Slop A/D type MCU - HT46R71D June
12, 2006 The
HT46R71D, as a newly released device from Holtek Semiconductor, is a Dual Slope A/D type 8-bit OTP microcontroller, whose specification includes 2K of OTP Program Memory as well as 32 bytes of Data Memory. Additional functions, include both an 8-bit and 16-bit timer, a Buzzer output, an External Interrupt source, I/O wake-up functions and a 30-pixel LCD panel driver. The
HT46R71D internal dual slope analog to digital converter, can be used to expand normal A/D applications to include those for measurement systems. The internal A/D function includes an integrated operational amplifier, a voltage follower, an integrator and comparator. Internal also to the device is an internal charge pump circuit and voltage regulator. With these comprehensive internal features, the
HT46R71D can conveniently operate within a single Lithium Ion Cell voltage range of 2.2V to 3.0 volts. By the addition of a minimum amount of external capacitors or resistors, the device can provide signal amplification and external sensor signal conditioning functions.
The
HT46R71D fully complies with industrial specifications, and is most suitable for measuring parameters such as temperature, moisture and pressure etc., in product applications such as thermometers, humidity sensors and pressure gauges etc. By incorporating an OTP partial lock function, this allows calibration data to be to be saved and thus eliminates the need for the product to incorporate an additional EEPROM. When compared to its present market competitor devices, in terms of functionality and cost-competitiveness, the HT46R71D device excels in all areas. The
HT46R71D , as is customary for all of its MCU devices, is fully supported by the Holtek HT-IDE3000 hardware and software development system. By including a host of features such as real time emulation, full Data Memory and register accessing, hardware breakpoint logical setups, trace analysis, etc, designers are provided with all the required tools to ensure that their designs are quickly and efficiently implemented and debugged in as short a time as possible. Presently the device is supplied in chip form and also in 48SSOP package types for which samples are available and which is presently in full production.
