Holtek New Flash A/D Type Devices - HT46F46E/HT46F48E/HT46F49E
06/03/2008
Following on from the successful release of its A/D type Flash microcontroller, the HT46F47E, Holtek is now delighted to announce the release of three new Flash type A/D microcontrollers to this device range, the HT46F46E, HT46F48E and HT46F49E. All members of the series fully meet with industrial grade specifications having an operating temperature range of -40℃ ~ 85℃ and meet the demands of excellent noise immunity. The internal Flash Program Memory can be reprogrammed up to 100,000 times while the internal EEPROM Data Memory can undertake up to 1 million read and write operations. With its integrated ICP (In-Circuit Programming) feature, the user is provided with a simple and expedient means for in circuit program upgrades. As each device also contains an area of EEPROM Data Memory, this can be used to store parameters such as calibration or other data, either during the production process or during normal device operation. As this type of memory is nonvolatile in nature, it carries with it the advantage of data retention even after power in removed.
These Flash A/D series of microcontrollers, HT46F46E, HT46F47E, HT46F48E and HT46F49E all include Flash Program Memory of capacity from 1K to 4K, EEPROM capacity of either 128 or 256 bytes, 13 to 23 I/O lines and an SRAM capacity from 64 to 128 bytes. Each device in the series also includes an 8 or 9-bit 4-channel A/D converter and an 8-bit PWM. The internal A/D converter, in having the ability to measure external analog signals, will have excellent use in applications such as those which measure voltage, current, temperature, humidity, pressure, illumination levels etc. while the internal PWM can be used to control items such as temperature, motor rotation speed, voltage and current control etc. The internal PFD (Programmable Frequency Divider) can be used to generate accurate frequencies for use in producing attractive melodic audio sounds or even to generate infra-red carrier signals.
In the area of packaging, the devices are supplied in a range of 16 to 28 pin NSOP, DIP, SKDIP, SOP and SSOP package types which when added to the large range of integrated functions, gives different designers excellent device solutions for their products, some of which could include home electrical appliances, home alarm systems, industrial controllers, consumer electronics, automotive peripheral products to name but a few areas.
Holtek of course fully supports these new devices with the Windows® based HT-IDE3000 development system, which is a suite of both hardware and software tools in which is included a real-time In Circuit Emulator. With all the features one would expect from high performance development tools such as full trace analysis, breakpoint functions etc, also included is an integrated device programmer. These tools together with Holtek's various application guides ensure that product designers have their new developments debugged and running as efficiently as possible.
