Holtek Releases HT46RS03/HT46RS03P - 8-bit MCU with Internal Operational Amplifier, Comparator and Regulator

With its internal Operational Amplifier, Comparator and Low Voltage Dropout Regulator, Holtek announces the release of its new HT46RS03 and HT46RS03P devices. The devices have 2K*15 of Program Memory and 128 bytes of Data Memory and contain up to 16 I/O lines. The three internal Operational Amplifiers and Comparator have an offset that can be adjusted down to ±4mV. The devices also include an 8-bit and 16-bit timer as well as crystal and ERC system oscillator circuits to generate a maximum system frequency of 16MHz. By utilising internal calibration the ERC system oscillator can be setup to have a tolerance of less than 10% over its full voltage and temperature operating range. The HT46RS03P also includes an internal 5V regulator allowing the device to accept input voltages of up to 24V and provide a stable system power supply. With all these combined features Holtek has released a new device with an excellent price/performance ratio.

The internal Operational Amplifier, Comparator and Regulator within the HT46RS03 and HT46RS03P, allows for overall reduced PCB area and simplifies external circuitry giving the advantages of smaller application sizes, reduced costs, increased convenience etc. The HT46RS03 and HT46RS03P are suitable for use in applications requiring signal amplification, such as remote controllers, automotive reversing radar products, distance measuring instruments, toys, robotics, measuring instrumentation etc. One special area of use could be for related ultra sonic based products where the device internal Programmable Frequency Divider can be used to generate ultra sonic frequencies, and the internal Operational Amplifiers used as a signal amplifying bandpass filter and the Comparator used to measure the signals. When the software and hardware is used together with the two internal timers, the device can be used to measure ultra sonic frequencies and implement dynamic automatic adjustment functions. The I/O pins can be used for indicator purposes or for main board control, permitting the easy full implementation of ultra sonic application systems.

The special characteristics of the HT46RS03 and HT46RS03P lie in their high level of integration, low cost, low power, high efficiency and multi function I/O pins. Additionally, a high level of protection against operational malfunction is provided by way of the device’s internal high noise immunity, Watchdog Timer and Low Voltage Reset functions. Regarding packaging the devices are supplied in 16-pin DIP/SSOP and 20 DIP/SSOP package types.
