After achieving extensive positive evaluation from their HT71XX, HT73XX and HT75XX series of regulators, Holtek is now delighted to announce the release of two new high current low dropout voltage regulator series, the HT72XX and HT78XX. Two of its major features are their exceptionally low, 5uA power supply current and low dropout voltage specification, making the devices especially suitable in battery applications in allowing the battery life to be extended. Additionally, the devices can accept high input voltage levels as well as possessing superior performance in terms of their output voltage accuracy. These two combined features of low current consumption and accurate output voltage, allow the HT72XX and HT78XX devices to become two further superior power supply regulator solutions for multi-cell battery applications. The devices also include internal protection circuitry to protect against over-current and over-temperature conditions which will protect the devices from damage.
The HT72XX and HT78XX CMOS technology, low dropout voltage regulator device ranges, subdivide into their respective maximum output currents of 300mA and 500mA. Their fixed output voltages range from 1.8V to 5V. With their superior low power consumption specifications, the devices are especially suitable in application areas such as cameras, mobile phones, mobile game players and in fact many battery powered low power application areas.
