Holtek New 8-bit Dual Slope A/D MCU Product Release --- HT46R71D-1

The HT46R71D-1 forms a new addition to Holtek’s Dual Slope A/D Type 8-bit OTP microcontroller range. The device meet with industrial specifications, incorporates an OTP Partial Lock function, and includes a host of other functions making it suitable for use in measurement systems that utilise bridge type sensors, such as those for measuring pressure, temperature and humidity. Products could include tyre pressure gauges, pressure measurement devices, thermometers and humidity meters etc.
The HT46R71D-1 specification includes 2K of internal OTP Program Memory, 32 bytes of internal RAM Data Memory, both an 8-bit and 16-bit timer and hardware buzzer driver output to name but a few of the available functions. There are a total of 10 I/O pins, which have a wake-up function, as well as an external interrupt pin. Also included is an internal LCD driver circuit, capable of driving up to a 30-pixel LCD panel. The HT46R71D-1 also includes a Dual Slope Analog to Digital Converter, which is a broad application measurement type of A/D. The internal A/D function includes an operational amplifier, a voltage follower, integrator and comparator functions. Additionally, a charge pump and 3.3V voltage regulator are also integrated within the device. To minimize any problems that may be caused due to noise or low voltages, the device also includes a watchdog timer and LVD/LVR (Low Voltage Detect/Low Voltage Reset) functions.
The device is fully supported by Holtek’s full suite of hardware and software development tools. This includes an in-circuit emulator, device programmer and the Windows based software development system, known as the HT-IDE3000. The system includes a C-language compiler, as well as a range of other application guides etc, all of which combine to ensure that application programs are written and debugged as efficiently as possible.
The device is supplied in a 48-pin SSOP package and chip form for which volume orders can be accepted and samples provided for customer evaluation.
