Holtek’s HT83 Series Voice Controller New Product Release

Over the years Holtek has spared no effort in its development of devices for the voice controller market and now is pleased to announce the release of a new generation of Q-VoiceTM products, the HT83 series.
The Q-VoiceTM HT83XXX devices from Holtek, forms a simplified series of Voice Controller devices. Internally they contain an 8-bit microcontroller, 12 I/O pins, an external reset and a PWM output, which can directly drive a speaker. The devices within the series include the HT83004, HT83007, HT83010, HT83020, HT83038, HT83050 and HT83074 Mask type devices as well as the HT83R074 OTP type device, which offer voice storage time capacities ranging from 3 to 72 seconds. The HT83R074 OTP device, in addition to being used for volume production, can also be used as a development and verification device for the full series, as its electrical characteristics and package type are fully compatible with those of the Mask type devices. This offers designers further flexibility during product development.
Voice ICs are characterised by their accousitc fidelity, power saving capabilities and cost etc. This new generation of HT83 Voice Controllers from Holtek, offer exceptional performance in the areas of sound quality, power saving and cost, outperforming other devices on the market. By integrating hardware digital filters and a high efficiency PWM direct speaker driver, the need for external components is greatly reduced. With their high noise immunity and wide operating temperature of -40°C~+85°C, everyday products such as scales, blood pressure/temperature instruments, tyre pressure gauges, high function toys, voice broadcast products, to name but a few, can all now benefit from having high quality integrated voice functions leading to increased reliability and simplicity.
The HT83R074 OTP device is programmed using Holtek’s recently developed USB interface HT-VMR writer. Program development for all devices is carried out using the HT-IDE3000 development system, which with its comprehensive range of hardware and software features, provides all the tools needed to ensure that product development and program debug are implemented as efficiently as possible.
