The new Holtek
HT46R63 is one of Holtek's new generation LCD type 8-bit A/D one time programmable
(OTP) Microcontrollers. With its 4K of internal OTP memory and 32 I/O pins, it allows for easy interfacing to devices such as external keypads and can also directly drive
LEDs. The device is capable of controlling external power components such as triacs or relays etc. Its internal 8-channel A/D converter can directly monitor external analog signals such as those used by battery monitors, current measurements, temperature measurements, etc as well as many other types of sensor signals. The device's internal 4-channel 8-bit PWM D/A converter can be utilised to control external electronic devices or equipment such as that used for temperature, speed, voltage and other industrial or consumer devices. Its integrated 19x4 LCD driver internal circuitry, two oscillator circuits and one comparator circuit add to the already comprehensive features and demonstrate the flexibility and powerful capabilities of this device.
Conforming to industrial specifications, the
HT46R63 has a working voltage range of 2.2~5.5V, a voltage range giving it applications in a wide range of consumer and industrial related products incorporating LCD panels such as water heaters, ovens, microwave, induction hotplates, heating stoves, to mention only a few. Additional applications could be traditional and digital cameras, vehicle clocks, electric bicycles, exercise machines and other leisure related products.
To complement its microcontroller device range Holtek has developed a comprehensive development system known as the HT-IDE2000. The development system incorporates a comprehensive suite of both software and hardware tools, such as real-time simulation, step, breakpoint and full trace features to ease the development and debug process. The additional included feature of an LCD panel simulator allows designers to fully simulate LCD panels without connection to actual LCD hardware, giving a complete tools package that ensures LCD microcontroller application are designed and debugged with a minimum of delay and reach their respective markets in the shortest time possible.
