New HT9172 DTMF Receiver Device Release April
26, 2006 Following on from the huge market popularity of Holtek's
HT9170 DTMF receiver, Holtek is now pleased to announce the release of its new
HT9172. The new device is fully functionally and pin compatible with the
HT9170, but now encompasses more enhanced features, such as more rapid detection times and enhanced noise rejection. It is suitable for use in telephones and mobile phone remote control systems, automatic caller systems and industrial control systems etc.
The HT9172 is a DTMF receiver that contains a digital decoder and filter function. The internal amplifier circuit can compensate the input signal level, while the internal high speed converter filter circuit can separate out the original DTMF input signal, into high and low frequency group. The devices uses digital counting techniques to decode the 16 DTMF tones, from which it will generate a 4-bit decoded output.
One of the special features of the HT9172 is its wide operating voltage range of 2.5V~5.5V. Other features include its tri-state outputs which can easily interface to MCU devices, its Power Down mode function and temperature operating range of -40℃ to 85℃. The device is supplied in an 18-pin DIP and SOP package. Volume production has already commenced and sample devices are available from Holtek.
