New Product Release – 8-bit Cost Effective A/D MCU – HT46R49/HT46R49E

Holtek Semiconductor hereby announces the release of two new devices in its 8-bit Cost-effective A/D series in the name of the HT46R49 and HT46R49E. Among their many special features are included a four channel 9-bit A/D converter, 4K x 15 of OTP Program Memory capacity, 128x8 of Data Memory capacity, 23 I/O pins, a single 8-bit timer, a dual channel 8-bit PWM function, a Programmable Frequency Divider and 6-level stack etc. The devices are available in both 24-pin and 28-pin SKDIP and SOP package types and are well suited for applications in areas such as household electrical appliances, automotive peripheral products and a host of other intelligent controller application areas. The cost effective structure of these two devices ensures that users are provided a dual microcontroller solution with unbeatable functional/cost ratios.

The HT46R49 has a Holtek 8-bit microcontroller at its core, which can operate at a frequency of up to 8MHz, as well as an array of practical peripheral circuits, such as an internal 4-channel 9-bit analog to digital converter, which can interface to analog signals from external sensors such as temperature and humidity sensors etc. Also included are a 2-channel PWM function and 23 I/O pins, making for convenient motor speed control and easy interfacing to many kinds of external switches. The fully integrated Programmable Frequency Divider can generate fixed frequency signals such as those required to generate audio signals. These features add up to provide product designers with a flexible and integrated package with which to easily implement their microcontroller based system.

The HT46R49E microcontroller device, uses the latest packaging techniques to combine two integrated circuits into a single package, one is a Holtek 8-bit MCU and the other is a 1K bit Data EEPROM. This device type can not only reduce packaging costs but also provide users with a more economical and convenient to use microcontroller solution, which with its reduced circuit space demands, makes it suitable for products where space is limited. Both devices are available in 24-pin and 28-pin SKDIP and SOP package types and are pin compatible.

Holtek Semiconductor naturally supports the HT46R49 and HT46R49E with a comprehensive suite of design tools in the form of the HT-IDE3000 development system. As these tools incorporate functions such as real time emulation, full memory and register read and write access, hardware breakpoints with logical control, full trace functional analysis etc, a comprehensive set of features is provided to ensure that product designers have at their disposal a complete set of tools to ensure speedy and efficient program development and debug.
