Holtek releases new 8-bit Cost Effective A/D type MCUs - HT46R48/HT46R48E March
17, 2006 Holtek Semiconductor announces the release of two new devices in its Cost Effective A/D range of microcontrollers. Known as the
HT46R48 and HT46R48E, these two devices, with their internal 9-bit A/D converter, offer two new excellent solutions for the control of home appliances, automotive peripheral products, and other intelligent based control products. With their simplified internal structure, Holtek is further able to provide users with additional microcontroller device solutions possessing excellent price function ratios.
The
HT46R48 has a Holtek 8-bit microcontroller as its core, and can run at an operating frequencies of up to 8 MHz. The device has an internal Program Memory capacity of 2K bytes, as well as a host of practical internal features such as an internal 4-channel 9-bit Analog to Digital Converter circuit, which can be used to interface to external sensor signals such as those which measure temperature, humidity etc. Additional features are included in the way of a Pulse Width Modulator or PWM function, which can be used for motor control and 19 Input/Output pins, which can be used to interface to multiple switches while the internal Programmable Frequency Divider or PFD function, can generate a full range of audio frequencies etc. With all these combined features at their disposal, an easy means is provided for designers to create a fully integrated microcontroller system.
The
HT46R48E device uses the latest packaging techniques to incorporate two devices into a single package, an 8-bit MCU and a 1K Data EEPROM, with the
HT46R48E having the same internal features as the HT46R48 device. Not only having the advantages of reduced packaging costs, this device offers the benefits of space reduction making it an excellent microcontroller solution for product applications where space is at a premium. Both the HT46R48 and the HT46R48E are available in 24-pin SOP, SSOP and SKDIP package types and are fully pin-compatible. |
