Holtek’s New General Purpose HT1086 Low Dropout Voltage Regulator Series

Further expanding Holtek’s already wide range of devices in its power management series, these new additions, known as the HT1086 series, provide users with an even wider choice of Low Dropout Voltage Regulator types. With an output current specification of up to 1.5A, the range of application possibilities is enhanced still further. The devices, in addition to a guaranteed output voltage tolerance of 2%, also encompass features such as excellent load and line regulation as well as ripple rejection of up to 60dB. The internal protection features safeguard against situations of over-current and high temperatures, giving necessary protection to both the regulator device and the system in which they are used.

The HT1086 series of device, in addition to being supplied in a range of 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.3V and 5V fixed voltage types also have a variable output voltage type. As for packaging, the devices are all supplied in SOT223, TO220, TO252 and TO263 types, providing circuit designers with a wide choice to match their individual PCB space and heat dissipation requirements. Their pin-outs are fully compatible with all of the General Purpose “1086” type regulators and have a recommended operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. The devices have already entered high volume production for which Holtek can provide samples for user evaluation.
