Holtek Releases Industrial Grade 8-bit I/O Type Flash MCU – HT48FxxE Series
01/29/2007
Holtek Semiconductor in its continual strive for excellence in the area of MCU development, and in response to customer expectations, has formally released a range of Industrial Grade Flash Memory I/O type microcontroller devices, in the form of the HT48FxxE series. All members of the series fully meets with industrial grade specifications of - 40℃ ~ 85℃operating temperature range and excellent noise immunity. The internal Flash Program Memory can be reprogrammed up to 100,000 times while the internal EEPROM Data Memory can undertake up to 1 million read and write operations.
The HT48FxxE series of I/O type microcontrollers contain five devices, namely the HT48F06E, HT48F10E, HT48F30E, HT48F50E and the HT48F70E. Internal to each device is a Holtek 8-bit RISC core, Flash Program Memory capacity of 1K~8K, EEPROM Data Memory capacity of 128 or 256 bytes and RAM Data Memory capacity of 64~224 bytes, giving the user a wide choice of flexible memory possibilities. With a Flash Program Memory that can be reprogrammed up to 100,000 times, and with its integrated ICP (In-Circuit Programming) feature, the user is provided with a simple and expedient means for in-circuit program upgrades. As each device also contains an area of EEPROM Data Memory, this can be used to store parameters such as calibration or other data, either during the production process or during normal device operation. As this type of memory is non-volatile in nature, it carries with it the advantage of data retention even after power is removed.
In the area of packaging, flexibility is again provided as the devices are supplied in a range of package types, including DIP, SKDIP, SOP, SSOP and QFP types, with a pin count of 18 to 64 pins. These package types, when added to the other flexible functions of the device range, combine to provide users with excellent set of microcontroller solutions for application areas such as electrical appliances, security products, industrial control, consumer electronics and automotive peripheral products to name but a few.
As is usual for the full Holtek microcontroller device range, this new range of devices arrives fully supported by Holtek’s suite of Windows based HT-IDE300 functional hardware and software development tools. With features such as real time emulation, breakpoint functions, trace analysis and with an integrated device programmer on board, combined with a range of application examples, designers have at their ready disposal all the necessary tools and support to ensure that their applications are developed and debugged in the most efficient way possible.
