Holtek receives smoke-free workplace governmental award

December 21, 2005

Holtek Semiconductor as part of its employee welfare programs, in wishing to respect the health interests of non-smokers in the work place and responding to the Department of Health's incentive to prevent smoking related health hazards in the workplace, in November received a special award for excellence in its efforts to create a smoke-free working environment.

In not smoking at the work place, not only can increased work efficiency, improvements in employee health and reduced health care costs be achieved, but also improvements in the company's image. In the future, as Holtek continues to support the government's smoke-free workplace incentive, by encouraging employee participation and strengthening its organizational management capabilities, it will more effectively achieve its objective to create a smoke-free and energetic working environment. Implementing this policy can only result in a win-win situation for all three parties, namely, employee, employer and government alike.
