Holtek Semiconductor establishes Design Center

Holtek Semiconductor, in its design of Automotive specification and Industrial standard Microcontrollers, is delighted to announce support and approval from the Ministry of Economic Affairs for the establishment of its Design Center.

The most important role of the Design Center will be in the development of future technology. In this respect, Holtek will place the major part of its development efforts in the area of automotive specification MCU devices, high resolution CCD input analog front end circuit chipsets, VFD/OLED/LCD video output driver devices etc. In this development area there will be stringent demands regarding product quality and functional stability, resistance to voltage and temperature variations, magnetic interference etc as well as noise immunity and ESD/latch up etc.

The future will see the results of these developments enhance Taiwan's MCU design capability, with the devices being able to meet the requirements of automotive working temperatures, in addition to having superior noise immunity abilities. The outcome of the research center will not only see the enhancement of Taiwan’s industrial technology, but will also see a strengthening in Taiwan’s international research, improvements in product function/cost ratios, enhancements in intellectual property rights and provide overall superiority in the competitiveness of its own product brands, allowing Taiwan’s microelectronic supplier chain to stand even further as an equal alongside major European and US suppliers.
