Holtek establishes Sales and Technology Support Point in Chengdu, China
September 6, 2006
Holtek Semiconductor, on the 8th August, announced the formal establishment of its sales and technology support point in Chengdu, China. Taking overall responsibility for this service point is Mr. Yang Shi Wen, who has already resided in China for many years. With his extensive knowledge of microcontroller applications, in addition to having held the post of Holtek's application department head in Taiwan, demonstrate his excellent credentials for this appointment. Mr. Yang's assistance to customers in the way of application development and technology support has received much commendation from all customers he has dealt with.
Holtek, with over 20 years of expertise and experience in microcontroller and other IC design, has been enthusiastically received by mainland China's burgeoning household appliance, medical equipment and instrumentation controller market. Holtek has always been aware of the importance of providing excellent local support and service as it is one of the key ways to strengthen customer relations. At the present time, in the developed coastal mainland China regions, in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen, Holtek's support points have already been established, the success and achievements of which have been substantial. However, in order to expand its presence into the Chinese interior regional areas, Holtek has now established an additional centre in the interior city of Chengdu. With the establishment of this new support and service post, Holtek hopes to establish itself as an even more prominent name in the microcontroller application area.
With the continual and rapid expansion of the Chinese economy, electronic information related industries have developed. This development, beginning in the coastal regions, is now spreading its wings to the interior regional areas, aimed at the increasingly large interior markets. It is clear that by setting up a localised technology support system, long term customer relationships can be more easily nurtured and customer approval more readily attained. In adopting this forward looking policy and the establishment of this support system in Chengdu, Holtek hopes to offer immediate technology support to major microcontroller application customers.
Holtek Semiconductor is located in the Hsinchu Science Park, and was one of the first IC companies in Taiwan to enter the microcontroller development arena. At the present time the company has in excess of 500 personnel, and a capitalisation of 2.1 billion Taiwan dollars. Holtek's products include general purpose and special purpose micrcontrollers, as well as voice, communication, computer, memory and power management peripheral devices etc. Holtek's impressive growth record and extensive device range has seen its sales network spread to every important country and region of the globe.
The China mainland regional area is an important strategic area for Holtek Semiconductor, and therefore the establishment of this new service point in Chengdu, in following the experience of Shanghai and other already established areas, will emphasise the importance of China interior regional customer co-operation and supply them with immediate technology support. This will serve to fulfill the needs of local customers for high quality products. Holtek predicts that within the coming three years, the Chengdu support point, within the sphere of Holtek's customer technology support, will take a pivotal role, not only in influencing the China interior regional area but will also be able to offer substantial contributions to the entire China region microcontroller market.
