The board of directors today approved the financial results for 2006 and announced a change of acting spokesperson

The Company announced today its financial results for 2006, which has been approved by the board of directors. The total sales in 2006 were NT$ 3,891 million, representing a 4.7% increase YOY. The net income before tax in 2006 was NT$ 1,125 million, showing a remarkable 17.4% growth YOY, and net income after tax was NT$ 1,058 million, a 15.4% growth YOY. The earnings per share for 2006 was NT$ 5.33 before tax and NT$ 5.01 after tax, which consisted of NT$ 1.18 earnings per share before tax and NT$ 1.15 earnings per share after tax in Q4, based on the average outstanding shares in 2006.
The quarterly sales breakdown were NT$ 900 million in 1Q06, NT$ 1,046 million in 2Q06, NT$ 1,055 million in 3Q06, and NT$ 890 million in 4Q06. The product line sales breakdown were: Standard MCU ICs, 40.3% of total sales, Consumer ICs, 31.3%, PC peripheral ICs, 14.4%, Communication ICs, 5.5%, Memory ICs, 5.1%, ASIC ICs and others, 3.4%. The standard MCU sales among the product lines accounted for NT$ 1,570 million and a 5.3% growth YOY. Additionally, together with the sales of embedded MCU ICs, the total MCU sales accounted for 60.3% of the Company's total sales.
The Company also announced a change of acting spokesperson. The new spokesperson will be charged by Mr. Armstrong Tsai, Director of Marketing Division, with the former spokesperson Ms. Patty Li, CFO, taking the role of deputy spokesperson because of internal task re-allocation.
