111400-2.jpg (6616 bytes)As Holtek prides itself on being a provider of standard MCU Expertise & ASSP Embedded microcontrollers, the company requires not only a clear vision in terms of products and foundry capacity planning, but also requires a sound financial foundation with which to launch future investments into the latest IP, CAD tools, personnel etc. during the coming year. With this in mind the financial strengths of Holtek Semiconductor was demonstrated in the next session during the presentation by Mrs. Patty Li, the director of Holtek's financial division. Holtek's 1999 operations reported a very healthy revenue of USD 121.2 million with a corresponding net income of USD 8.6 million, while for the year 2000 January to September period alone, Holtek had already reached a record high revenue of USD 121.4. These figures fully demonstrate Holtek's commitment to re-investment and its long-term commitment to excellence in customer partnership.

On the following day, October 14th, a complete and intensive product presentation session was offered for the 4 major product lines: Computer, Microcontroller, Communication and Consumer. All major new products planned for the year 2001, such as the new 8-bit MCU series, cordless phone controller, RF mouse/keyboard devices etc. were introduced in detail to our agents. With this information in hand, our agents will be in a position to promote these new Holtek products in their own areas without difficulty.

This provided an opportunity for agents to see first hand how this efficient and high throughput machine operates and provided evidence for the prevalence of OTP type microcontrollers in the overall microcontroller market area.

The afternoon session was used to form several special interest groups, where attendees and Holtek personnel with similar interests could get together and discuss and exchange related market information. This was the first time that such discussions were organized but their success in deepening the relationships between agents, the Holtek product line and the market ensures their presence at future agent's conventions.

At 5pm Holtek formally ended the 2000 Holtek Agent Convention and again, as in the past, evaluated the event as a necessary and successful part of Holtek's promotional activities. Holtek expresses its formal thanks to all those agents who took the trouble to attend this year's event and looks forward to welcoming all back to the 2001 convention.
