2001 Holtek Agent Convention Report
October
12th to the 13th at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Yangmei,
Taiwan, was this year's venue for the 2001 International Agent's
convention. This year's convention, when including agents from Hong
Kong and Taiwan, had a total of 100 agents in attendance from 15
different countries.
Registration having taken place, Gordon Gau,
Holtek's president, began the proceedings with a welcoming address.
Mr. Gau then explained how, even in the present economic downturn,
Holtek has managed to maintain stability in its business operations
as well as expressing the importance Holtek places on its agents.
This was followed by a report on business results and market
development plans for 2002, with Holtek firmly expressing its
commitment to the development of future MCU and MCU peripheral
devices, such as memory as well as power monitor devices. An appeal
was made to all our agents for their full support of these plans and
for their cooperation in the expansion of our customer service base.

In
the present economic downturn, Holtek not only needs products of
increased excellence but also the backing support of healthy and
complete economic structures. In this regard, the head of our
financial department gave a presentation to agents on the financial
setup at Holtek. After the financial reports, this year a detailed
report from one of Holtek's directors, Saul Wu, followed on the
subject of Holtek's QRA policies. Details were given on the
implementation status of these plans giving our agents a clear
understanding of the efforts being made by Holtek in this important
area. At the same time it was explained that our existing agent
sales network will be used by Holtek to provide regular quality
assurance reports to our agents who can then inform our customers.
This method demonstrates Holtek's commitment to achieving
international standards for its devices, and shows clearly to our
agents Holtek's dedication to quality assurance.
The
second day of the convention started at 9:30 am and began with a
presentation from Richard Yang, Holtek's senior director, presiding
over a presentation on the previous years sales figures followed by
an interchange of ideas between agents. This was followed by an
introduction to Holtek's new products with an emphasis on new
developments among the full range of 8-bit microcontrollers, while
at the same time explaining how Holtek successfully released a
series of new high quality MCU devices during the present year, a
range of devices suitable for use in the wide ranging 3C area. In
addition, new device releases in the memory product line were also
introduced. A full understanding of the characteristics of Holtek
devices and their range of applications by our agents is of great
benefit to agents in their customer promotional activities.
The afternoon saw a question and answer
session, after which we received the added benefit of many
constructive comments from our agents, before the closing ceremony
of what could only be described as a very successful event. For
their attendance at the convention Holtek wishes to formally extend
its thanks to its agents and looks forward to being together and
seeing everyone again at the 2002 event.
