During these two days, over 40 agents from 17 countries around the world gathered together to gain more information about the business and the products as well.

With a purpose to make the gathering more enjoyable and worthwhile, the schedule of activities were arranged in a relaxed manner. And so in the morning of the 11th, our guests were toured to different scenic spots and visited the National Palace Museum, Martyr's Shrine, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and then lunch was served at the Malaya restaurant. This characterized the opening of this year's Convention. A special tourist bus was hired to ensure more comfort and mobility as the sightseeing activities continued on until late in the afternoon.

Then Mr. Gordon Gau, the president and spokesperson of Holtek, presided over the handing out of Recognition Awards to outstanding agents from Argentina, Korea and Germany. Mr. Michael Wang and most directors of our different product lines joined the banquet in honor of our guests. After the lively banquet, some of the guests enjoyed the recreation facilities and had a wonderful night.

The highlight of the Convention was the new product presentations held on the second day, along with short messages from Gordon Gau and Richard Young, the head of our International Sales Department. The first product presented was ASIC, by Justin Cheng, then uC products by Brendan Tseng, as well as presentation of our new RFID by Charles Chen. Every participant showed much interest and gave assurance of support.

Reports on relevant IC developments of the Computer, Consumer and Communication products were given by John Chen, Renkey Hsu, and Bobson Chang, respectively. All the agents made good use of their chance to discuss the new information presented to them. The financial status and business strategy reported by Ms. Patty Li of the financial department followed right after the product line presentations so to provide the agents with a better understanding of the whole company operation.

Before the convention drew to a close, an open forum or a Q&A session was conducted by Gordon Gau and it provided a chance for exchange of opinions and answering questions raised by the agents. This led to a lively and fruitful discussion that further made the 1999 Holtek Agent Convention more memorable.

Events like such would always offer mutual gains and increased understanding on the company, products and business trends, which are all beneficial for the company, the agents and customers alike. This would subsequently lead to acquiring much improved performance necessary for coping up and getting ahead with the present extremely competitive semiconductor global marketplace.
