Holtek and the Chen Shiu University establish a joint venture to setup a Holtek MCU laboratory
On 29th May 2007 Holtek Semiconductor and Cheng Shiu University established a new Holtek MCU laboratory. The official signing ceremony took place between Holtek’s Executive Vice President, Chang Chi, and the University Dean, with both parties signing an agreement to cooperate in academic research and application development areas.
Holtek Semiconductor and Cheng Shiu University, in order to assist with academic research and to encourage and foster some excellent MCU application development personnel, established a Holtek MCU laboratory. Related activities to this laboratory will include using Holtek microcontrollers to teach about microcontroller principles and applications, the publishing of microcontroller literature and related application development etc. To establish this laboratory, Holtek donated a large number of its HT46 development systems, microcontroller devices and HTIDE3000 user handbooks as well as providing the University teachers with financial assistance in the way of special design awards.
Holtek’s Executive Vice President, Chang Chi, shared that Holtek Semiconductor has over 20 years of microcontroller development experience whose products are to be found in areas such as electrical home appliances, leisure products, medical instruments and other intelligent based products. It is hoped that this new joint venture with Chen Chiu University will create a new development model, which will assist in upgrading the country’s overall microcontroller application skills, and also demonstrates Holtek Semiconductor’s commitment to Taiwan.
