1999 uC/ASIC Anouncement at Shenzhen, China

On 16th March, the Century Plaza Hotel in Shenzhen, China was the setting for the presentation of Holtek Semiconductor's new 1999 uC/ASIC range of devices, a one-day event which attracted around 200 guests from mainland China.

After the formal opening ceremony, conducted by Holtek's Hong Kong Branch Office director, who gave a short introduction to Holtek Semiconductor, the main contents of the seminar were formally presented.

First, to give the guests in attendance a general idea about the Holtek microcontroller range, an overall product introduction was presented. In this session the most important devices in the microcontroller range were introduced, some of which included the 4-bit general purpose and LCD range of processors, the 8-bit general purpose devices, 8-bit LCD range, A/D Convertor range, R.F. range as well as the TV controller products. We are pleased to report that the presentation resulted in an enthusiastic response from the audience in attendance.

After this general introduction a presentation was given on microcontroller applications to exhibit the flexibility of these devices and to deepen the attendees understanding of their capabilities. Detailed explanations were given on the hardware structure, software development and practical examples of applications as well as an explanation on the Holtek IDE hardware development system. The objective was to give all attendees a comprehensive understanding of the Holtek microcontroller range of devices and supportive tools.

In the afternoon session a presentation was given on the Holtek range of ASIC products of which included Full Custom, Standard Cell, as well as detailed information on packaging, customer interface, the design process, tools support and shipping etc.

After the main product presentations time was given for a question and answer session. This proved to be a very lively session with many constructive questions being put to and answered by the Holtek staff. To further increase the attendees understanding of these Holtek devices several Demo Kits and devices were on show in the seminar hall. To assist with this Holtek engineers were at hand to answer any technical questions that arose.

Although only one day in duration much information was presented and from the enthusiastic response of the attendees the event was an obvious success.
