Report on Holtek's Application Seminar at the Changhua University of Education
To
further promote microcontroller education to fit with industry's
needs for design applications, the Changhua University of
Education's Department of Electrical Engineering and the Changhua
University Incubation Center organized, with Holtek's assistance, a
"Holtek MCU application seminar" on 18th February 2004.
The seminar was attended by over 30 professors and research students from 20 related schools in the central region of Taiwan. The seminar began with a welcome by the Director of the Electrical Engineering department of the Changhua University of Education, Professor Chen Tsair Rong and Mr. Chang Chih, Holtek Semiconductor's vice president. Engineers from Holtek introduced the principles behind MCUs in addition to introducing the Holtek development system and tools. By using actual examples as a means of training, attendees were given a real practical insight into the workings of MCU devices. Such a method of promoting MCU understanding in all levels of education should assist related MCU industries in their search for an increasing number of better qualified personnel.
On 17th October 2002, the Changhua University of
Education's Incubation Center formally established, "The Holtek Microcontroller
Laboratory". With the help of related technology professionals, the object of this exercise was to promote at all levels of education, microcontroller education and microcontroller application development, with the expectation of providing industry with the technology support it requires. Because the seminar was extremely well attended and excellent feedback obtained, Holtek will in the future, offer further such seminars to the Changhua University of
Education's Department of Electrical Engineering and the Changhua University Incubation
Center.
With the cooperation and assistance of staff and students from the Electrical Engineering department at the Changhua University of Education and the Incubation Center, the MCU application seminar was deemed to be a resounding success, for which Holtek extends its formal gratitude to all concerned.
