Holtek 2000 China Agent's convention
On 24th/25th December 2000, the city of
Shenzhen on the China/Hong Kong border was the setting for this
year's Holtek China agent convention. The focus of the convention
was directed at Holtek agents from both the Hong Kong and mainland
China region, who after invitation a total of 23 agents decided to
attend.
The main purpose of the event, in addition to providing
a forum where all our regional agents could get together, was to formally
introduce Holtek's new devices. The
afternoon of the first day saw the formal opening of the convention with a
welcome by Holtek's president Gordon Gao, followed by an introduction on the
recent developments at Holtek and the market expansion plans for the year 2001,
as well as an introduction to the direction of future product development. To
thank and formally recognise the efforts of Holtek's agents during the past
year a recognition event ceremony was organised. Following on from this was a
more detailed introduction to the new product developments of each of the
Consumer, PC, Memory, Communication and Microcontroller product areas.
The
second day, beginning in the morning, saw a presentation of a detailed report
on the Hong Kong and China mainland business situation by Holtek's Hong Kong
subsidiary company. Some small group meetings were then organised between
different agents and their respective Holtek market development personnel, a
forum that is also seen as a means to enhance the relationship between Holtek
and its agents. In the afternoon at 3pm the meeting formally ended, but having
been seen as a success by all attendees. Holtek believes that such meetings are
a necessary part of enhancing the relationships between Holtek and its agents
and as a means of providing recognition and encouragement for past and future efforts.
