Traditional LED flashlight circuits use batteries to directly drive LEDs, however in such cases variable battery capacity results in inconsistent brightness or even LED damage. The HT45F34x0 Flash MCUs include an integrated high resolution PWM as well as a range of protection features, making the devices very suitable for applications which require precise battery power control.
To implement accurate power load control, the HT45F34x0 MCUs include an integrated high resolution PWM generator. Protection features are provided in the way of an over current protection (OCP) function, a battery discharging over voltage protection (OVP) function and a system low voltage reset (LVR) function, all which combine to achieve higher efficiencies, enhanced stability as well as a higher level of product safety and protection. This combination of functions ensure the devices are well matched for LED flashlight applications and other products which require precise battery power control. Compared with traditional solutions, the devices reduce the need for a large amount of external components resulting in smaller PCB areas and lower BOM costs.
