Holtek HT71D0x New Power Line Data Transceiver Device Series

08/11/2010

In response to the increasing proliferation of interconnected system applications, Holtek is pleased to announce the release of its HT71D0x device series. The devices offer a high degree of functional integration which with the inclusion of a power regulator, voltage detector and full data transmission modulation circuitry, enables reductions in the usually required power and signal interconnecting cables to only two lines. This allows substantial reductions in overall system component count while at the same increasing subsystem stability as the subsystem power/signal lines will be far less susceptible to voltage fluctuations.

The HT71D0x series devices will initially have two product offerings, namely the HT71D02 and HT71D04. The HT71D02 includes an internal 3.3V regulator output while the HT71D04 will provide a 5.0V output. The high voltage input voltage for the whole series can be up to 30V which can be converted to a 3.3V or 5V signal via the internal data transmission modulation interface for the microcontroller subsystem. The microcontroller subsystems can also transmit data back to the main system after their low voltage signals are converted back to high voltage signals.

The HT71D0x series device all include an internal 9V voltage detector as well as an internal regulator enable/disable delay control and power capacitor discharge control, features that combine to ensure subsystem stable operation during undulating power line conditions.

The HT71D0x series devices are available in 8-pin NSOP package types and offer excellent integrated solutions with all the features of low cost, small package outlines, high functional integration etc. These features will enable the devices to experience widespread use in a range of interconnecting system applications such as smoke detectors, water metering systems etc.
