Holtek Flash type Voice MCU : HT83Fxx series - New Re-programmable and Flexible

 Differing from the traditional OTP and Mask type technology, Holtek is pleased to announce the release of its new series of HT83FXX Flash type Voice microcontrollers. Although OTP devices are user programmable, after programming their memory contents are unable to be modified. As this new HT83FXX series of devices includes Flash type memory, its memory contents can be re-programmed by the user even after the device has been mounted on the PCB. Voice functions are becoming an increasingly prominent feature in many home appliances, however the problems of multiple languages and stock managements issues can adversely affect the production process. With this new HT83FXX series of re-programmable Flash memory devices, the problems of multiple languages and stock management are greatly simplified.
In addition to an internal HOLTEK 8-bit embedded microcontroller, the HT83FXX devices also include an integrated Flash Voice Memory, a high speed SPI and I2C interface, a mono 12-bit voltage type DAC and a PWM driver which can directly drive 8 or 16 ohm speakers. Regarding the voice capacity, users are provided with a time range of between 32 to 512 seconds. Requiring very few external components, with high noise immunity and a wide operating temperature of -40°C～+85°C, this new HT83xx series of devices ensures that users are provided with a range of simple and rapid solutions to their voice product application requirements.
With regard to development tools, the HT83xx series of devices are well provided for with Holtek’s EasyPlayTM hardware and software development tools. The inclusion of multi mode play features as well as a new generation USB writer, ensures that designers are supplied with a full suite of easy to use supporting tools. In addition to the HT83xx device range, a complimentary series of devices, the HT83xxP series, is similar in features but includes an additional internal 3.3V regulator. This wide range of features ensures these devices will have a wide product application range, with some possible areas including home security products, healthcare products and household appliances to name but a few. For those voice product applications with lower volume and high adaptability requirements, this new range of devices provides excellent solutions for reliable and rapid product development.
