Holtek HT45R22E Infrared Learning Type Remote Control MCU

April 7, 2010

Holtek HT45R22E Infrared Learning Type Remote Control MCU Holtek takes pleasure in the announcement of a new infrared learning type remote control device, the HT45R22E. Device features include a 2.2V~3.6V operating voltage range, 4Kx15 of OTP Program Memory, 1Kx8 bytes of EEPROM, 128 bytes of RAM Data Memory, an internal R-type LCD COM driver, pin-shared I/Os with expansion of 22 pins, two internal Operational Amplifiers and one comparator. The system frequency can be generated by an external high frequency crystal, an external 32kHz crystal, an external RC circuit or a fully internal RC oscillator circuit with a fixed frequency of 4095kHz. Other functions include fast wake-up, dual frequency switching, RTC function etc.

For infrared learning type remote control applications, the internal OPA and comparator in the HT45R22E can implement the voltage amplifier circuitry required by the learning circuit. The internal RC oscillator removes the need for external crystal or resonator oscillator components. In implementing a dual frequency switching function, battery power supply life can be extended considerably. By integrating all these features into a single device, the HT45R22E forms a first class solution for infrared learning type remote control products.

The device includes a highly noise immune Holtek 8-bit MCU, which with its internal watchdog timer and LVR protection features, has the ability to counter any erroneous device operation. The HT45R22E is supplied in both 20 and 24-pin SOP package types.
