Conecting 2 microcontrollers with software UART

Hi All,
I´m trying to connect 2 microcontrollers and change data between them using a software UART.
The problem basicly is when the controller "master" starts, the pin used as output - pa5 go to down, and the slave interpret this as the start bit and all the data is corrupted.
I tryed to change the start bit to "1" but unsuccefull yet.
Anyone tried it before and can help me ?
